Silvana Di Franco has made her name photographing luscious weddings and portraits. But the Bay Area photographer has a different — and just as alluring — side: landscape and travel photography. Hand her a backpack and a stack of film, and she’ll play to all her artistic strengths.
Last year, Silvana spent four days on the Pacific coast of Mexico. The trip included the small fishing village of Yelapa, celebrity-favorite Costa Careyes and the Imanta Resort in Punta de Mita. Setting out to capture the paradox between natural beauty and luxury tourism, Silvana brought her Contax 645 medium-format film camera. The lush colors and luminous light made for the perfect canvas, and the ease you feel looking at her photographs speaks to her talent. Clean, timeless and vibrant, Silvana’s images make you wish you could pop open a bottle of Corona and transport yourself inside.
