A few years ago, my friend Leana Greene told me about an idea she had for the ultimate online parenting site. Leana, a mom of three, wanted to gather leading parenting experts — from top pediatricians to behavioral psychologists to fellow parents — and make their advice easily available to everyone.
At the time, I was working full-time at People magazine and expecting my second child (I now have three, too!). Needless to say, I wasn’t reading as many child-rearing books as I wanted to. I honestly didn’t even want to delve into the amount of information available, because I felt if I started I would never be able stop! We all want to do what’s best for our kids, but finding answers to my long list of questions felt an overwhelming task. To me, Leana’s idea sounded like heaven.
On April 2nd, Kids In The House will finally launch. Leana and her partner, Richard Ulfvengren, have created a parenting resource like no other. It features more than 300 experts and parents — I’m lucky to be one of them! — and 7,500 easy-to-understand educational videos on any topic you can imagine. It’s simply a parenting gold mine.
I have several videos on the site, from tips on how to create a meaningful nursery to advice on how to photograph your children. Leana has been kind enough to let me share the above video with you, discussing how I created my first son Axel’s nursery. I hope you enjoy it!
Please follow Kids In the House on Twitter and make sure to check back on their site on April 2nd.
